Office of the City Clerk now processes passport requests UTSA Today
(May 26, 2010)--The San Antonio City Council recently approved an ordinance designating the Office of the City Clerk as a U.S. Department of State passport acceptance facility (PAF).
Staff at the Office of the City Clerk will accept applications and take passport photos. The city clerk's office is the only municipality in Bexar County designated as a PAF.
"With the heavy level of travel expected this summer, I'm glad the city will help relieve the backlog and help San Antonians obtain passports in a convenient and timely manner," said Mayor Julian Castro .
Residents can apply for a passport at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 100 Military Plaza, and the Municipal Archives and Records facility at 719 S. Santa Rosa.
Hours at both locations are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Parking is free at the Municipal Archives and Records office, which also offers operating hours on Saturday by appointment only.
